Approach

If your company plans to expand, requires additional distribution space, needs to consolidate, retrofit and/or relocate, we will help you make the right decisions by analysing your existing operations and projecting your future requirements.

We begin by evaluating your operation and getting to know your company. If you are planning a new facility or an addition to your existing one, we recommend meeting with you early in the process to review architectural drawings. We will develop outline building specifications including clear height, column spacing, floor slab thickness, recommended lighting levels, number and location of doors, etc.
We will provide a complete proposal based on your operation, space and budget requirements.

Once our proposal has been submitted and approved, ILS will begin data collection and analysis. We will analyse information related to sales, inventory, business trends and practices and then prepare projections. Following client approval of the projections, ILS will prepare computer generated (CAD) preliminary drawings based on the requirements. Once the layouts are client approved we move to the detailed drawing phase.

Tender specifications are prepared for all required equipment at this point. We work very closely with you regarding the necessary equipment and in negotiating the best quality equipment for the fairest price. ILS will evaluate all tenders, make recommendations, oversee the equipment purchase, ensure the equipment meets the outlined specifications, and see that the equipment is properly installed and functions as required.

To support our materail handling and storage layouts, we develop written functional reports for the distribution centre’s processing system. This describes how the merchandise will flow through the building and how each function within the facility operates; from receiving, put away, quality assurance, replenishment, order filling, packing, inventory control to shipping and returns.

Finally, ILS also specialises in project management and systems commissioning of the total system, thereby taking responsibility from the conceptual and strategic planning stage through to full operation. ILS thus provides the full range of logistics expertise.

ILS has continuously strived to have the latest computer systems internally, with the most up to date software and systems, needed for our productivity and service to clients. This Includes:

  • CAD
  • Modelling tools
  • Project management tools
